How to Backup Email from IMAP Account?

Beyond Inbox provides two ways to take the backup of email, these are:

1. Backup using Backup option (Backup Plan).
2. Backup using Advanced option.

Using Advanced option you can further backup your data in two ways:

1. Backup selected email from a folder in an Email account.
2. Backup all email of selected folder(s) in an Email account.

STEP:1 Run Beyond Inbox as usual. Choose Back Up option from main user interface. It will open Backup Plan window. There are two options to run saved backup plan(s)- If you have already created a backup plan, select a plan from Select Backup Plan list on this window then click on Run Backup Plan.

Click on Manage Backup Plan, it will open Manage Pre Planned Backup Profiles window. Here you need to create a backup plan as per your backup requirement. Save your profile, it will make Run button enabled. Click on Run button to run selected backup plan. NOTE: If you have saved your backup plan with password then it will ask to enter the password, before running the backup plan.

STEP:2 After selecting any option from above two, it starts backup plan. It will start the progress bar showing the statistics panel with some useful information about the running backup plan. Information regarding the operation such as Incremental backup or Full backup, status as running or completed, start time of the running process, total processed size i.e. amount of size have been processed while taking back up of the email. It also displays the folders' name for which  backup process is running, interrupted and completed. It maintains the count of success, failed, identical, pending & total messages of the folders specified in the current backup plan. It will download the email in Data folder at the specified path. You can also run the backup plan as a background process by clicking on Run In background button or stop the current process by clicking on Stop Download button and get details of failed process using Failed Report button.

STEP:1 Run User Interface of Beyond Inbox. Select Advanced option from main user interface. It will open a new window.

STEP:2 Now select an IMAP profile from Quick Connect button. It will connect you to the email account specified in the selected IMAP profile.. If you have not created any IMAP profile yet, please visit this page to create an IMAP profile. How to create IMAP Profile NOTE: If you have saved your IMAP Profile with password then it will ask you to enter the password, before making connection to the specified email account.

STEP:3 After connecting successfully to the account, it will display the list of folders present in the account.

STEP:4 To set the path where backed up email will be saved i.e. Data folder path. Go to the File menu then choose Preferences and set your desired path in Data Path text field & save it.

Select the desired folder whose email you want to download. It will list all the emails in selected folder. Select the email from the list. Click on Download Selected button. It will start the progress bar showing the statistics panel with some useful information about the running download operation. Information regarding the operation as download, status as running or completed, start time of the download process, total processed size i.e. amount of size have been processed while downloading the email. It maintains the count of success, failed, identical, pending & total for messages selected to be downloaded. It will download the selected email in Data folder at the path which you specify in preferences panel. By default, it sets the “Data Path” as main folder path of Beyond Inbox where you have installed it.

Login with IMAP profile, you will get all the folders present in it at left side panel. As listing folders & their count complete, Download Folder(s) button gets enabled. Click it. It will open a new panel named as "Download Folder(s)” . Here you will find all folders of that account. If any Folder is selected from left side of panel then that folder will be selected in this panel also. Select the folder(s) which you want to download. If you want to download all folders from that account then click on “Check All” button. After selecting the folder(s), click on Download button. It will start the progress bar showing the statistics panel with some useful information about the running download operation. It will download the email in Data folder at the path which you have specified in preferences panel. By default, it sets the “Data Path” as main folder path of Beyond Inbox where you have installed it. After completing download process, it will display the number of successfully downloaded, identical, failed, pending and total email on progress bar as well as status bar.
