How to Copy and Move Email in IMAP Account?

Transfer your email to another account: You can be on top of your email just by transferring the email that is not needed in your main inbox to another email account. Beyond Inbox makes it very easy for you.
 

  • "Copy" or "Move" all emails to a different email account: You can "Copy" or "Move" email to a different destination account using Beyond Inbox. This can be a great feature while transferring your email from one email service to another. In that case, you can transfer all your emails to the new email account.
  • "Copy" or "Move" selected emails to a different account: This can also be useful if you want to separate the email received for specific purposes; for example, any payment notifications or invoice from your inbox. Just need to search for such email using the "sender" or "subject" fields and tag the email. Then you can move the tagged email to a different email account using Beyond Inbox.
  • Remove transferred email from the source account: If you wish to remove the tagged email from the source email account, choose the "move" feature of Beyond Inbox.

 

Beyond Inbox allows you to copy  or move the specified email from one IMAP account to another IMAP account. You can also copy or move the specified email to a different folder of the same account. Copy feature copies the selected email from the source to destination. Copied email remains in source account. Move feature moves the email from one place to another and moved emails are deleted from source account.

Follow the given steps to Copy/ Move email to the same or to different IMAP account:

STEP: 1
  1. Run Beyond Inbox.
  2. Select Copy & Move option from the main panel of Beyond Inbox.
  3. It will open a new window with two sides, one for the source and another for the destination.

STEP: 2

  1. Connect with your desired IMAP profile from Nick-Name combo boxes as source & destination.
  2. These combo boxes have two types of connections to connect, one is the Local File System which lists all drives of your system and the other one is IMAP profile(s) which you have configured and will list all the folders present in your account.
  3. IMAP profiles are listed in this list only if you have created them previously.

STEP: 3
  1. On the selection of profiles on the both sides, it starts listing all the folders present in the IMAP accounts which you have selected.

  1. Now select the folder containg the email to be copied from the source account and the folder in the destination account where you want to copy the email.
  2. It will start listing all the emails present in the selected folders on both side.
  3. Select the email which you want to copy from the source side.
  4. Click on copy button from the middle strip which points towards the destination side in blue color arrow to copy email.

 

STEP: 5

  1. It starts the Copy operation in queue.
  2. You can see Progress for each email as Running(Copying) or Completed.
  3. You can also stop any selected processing email using Stop option right click.
  4. You can see Statistics for Copy operation like Start Time, End Time, number of successfully copied, failed, identical, pending, and total emails in statistics tab in queue panel.
  5. You can also retry for failed emails.
  6. On the completion of copy process,on the refresh button on the destination side to see the copied email.

  1. Now again select the folderson the both side.
  2. After completion of listing of email on both sides, select the email which you want to move from the source side.
  3. Click on move button from the middle strip which points toward the destination side in red color arrow.

 

STEP: 7

  1. It starts the Move operation in queue.
  2. You can see Progress for each email as Running(Moving) or Completed.

  4. You can see Statistics for Move operation like Start Time, End Time, number of successfully moved, failed, identical, pending, and total emails in statistics tab in queue panel.
